The Chicago White Sox are a professional baseball team based on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member of the American League (AL) Central division. Founded in 1894 as the Sioux City Cornhuskers, the team moved to Chicago in 1900 and was originally known as the Chicago White Stockings before officially adopting the White Sox moniker. The White Sox have won three World Series championships (1906, 1917, and 2005) and are known for their passionate fanbase and historic Guaranteed Rate Field (formerly U.S. Cellular Field and Comiskey Park).
