Rand Paul is an American politician and physician currently serving as the senior United States Senator from Kentucky since 2011. A member of the Republican Party, he is known for his libertarian-leaning views, advocating for limited government, lower taxes, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Before entering politics, Paul practiced ophthalmology. He has been a vocal critic of government spending, the national debt, and government surveillance programs. He is the son of former U.S. Representative Ron Paul.
