Sean Hjelle is a professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Oakland Athletics organization. Known for his towering 6'11" frame, Hjelle was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2nd round of the 2018 MLB draft out of the University of Kentucky. He made his major league debut with the Giants in 2022 and was traded to the Athletics in December 2023. Hjelle primarily throws a sinker and slider, using his height to create a downward angle on his pitches that can be difficult for hitters to elevate.
