Gregg Berhalter is an American soccer coach and former player, currently serving as the head coach of the United States Men's National Team (USMNT). As a player, he was a defender who represented the USMNT at two FIFA World Cups (2002 and 2006). His coaching career includes stints with Hammarby IF in Sweden and Columbus Crew SC in Major League Soccer (MLS), where he won the MLS Cup in 2015. He was initially appointed as the USMNT head coach in 2018, leading them to a CONCACAF Gold Cup title in 2021 and a Round of 16 appearance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Following a contract expiration and investigation, he was re-hired as head coach in 2023.
